PBBM mull over ‘Concert in the Park’ revival

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. plans to revive the “Concert in the Park” initiative that his father started if there is a significant increase in public interest to watch the concert series in Malacañang.

The Chief Executive shared this in his latest vlog since “Concert in the Park” was conceptualized during the administration of his late father Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

In Marcos’ latest vlog, Marcos explained that he wants to open the Palace to the public since Malacañang belongs to the Filipino people.

He added that the official residence and workplace of the President of the Philippines should be accessible to the public.

“It is the Palace of the People. It’s not the Palace of the President. The Palace should really be open because it’s important for the people to see that it belongs to the country and not to any individual,” Marcos said.

“If there is an increase in interest to watch, we will consider bringing it back to Luneta,” the Chief Executive pointed out.

In the same vlog, Marcos said the First Family has had an affinity to music because of his mother, former First Lady Imelda Marcos. He added that music is a language that brings people together.

“Even if we come from different races, it inspires and gives us a sense of identity that awakens our patriotism, colors the lives of those who love each other, or is a companion to whatever we’re going through,” he said.

“Let us once again love our culture and art. We salute the talent of Filipinos,” Marcos added.
