About 285 passengers were unloaded from a northbound train at the MRT-3 Santolan Station on Thursday evening at 9:01 p.m. due to smoke emitting from under the train, according to the advisory issued by the MRT-3 management.
The advisory, attributed to Assistant Secretary for Railways and MRT-3 officer-in-charge Jorjette Aquino, said that all the unloaded passengers were able to safely transfer to the next northbound train at around 9:08 p.m.
It added that the affected train will undergo a mandatory checkup to determine the cause of the smoke emission.
“The MRT-3 management would like to apologize to all the affected passengers for the inconvenience caused by the incident,” the advisory concluded.
