The Cebuana Lhuillier- backed RP Co-ed Slo Pitch was off to a rousing start in the ongoing Co-ed Slo-pitch Softball Asia Cup in Pattaya, Thailand, from May 24-27, edging a strong Chinese Team 7-6.
“I’m so proud with how the team played in the 1st game, beating a strong quality Chinese team. I know they have prepared hard for this and I’m confident they will nail one of those World Cup slots, said ASAPHIL President Jean Henri Lhuillier.
The National team is eyeing to securing one of the 3 World Cup berths in this tournament. As of presstime, they will be playing Singapore in their 2nd game later in the day.
Coach Ana Maria Santiago expressed confidence with the team’s chance.
“We had a great training ahead of the tournament and I’m confident the team will deliver. We’re all hungry for a World Cup slot, said Coach Santiago.
Other teams vying in the tournament are Japan, Chinese-Taipe, China, Singapore and Thailand.
