Parañaque City police arrested a fire volunteer who yielded P23 million worth of illegal drugs in a major drug haul by drug operatives Saturday.
PCP Substation 4 personnel in collaboration with the Station Drug Enforcement Unit, conducted the
buy-bust operation that resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs in Balimbing Street, Phase 3, Olivarez Compound, Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City.
The operatives identified the suspect as Jonnie Romo alias “Han,” 41-year-old, who was the object of police background investigation following a report that he was involved in the illegal drug trade.
The operation also resulted in the seizure of eight knot-tied transparent plastic sachet containing shabu, two medium-sized plastic tea bags sealed with the label “GUAR YUN WANG,” one medium-sized transparent plastic sachet, genuine 1000 bill on top of 139 pieces of boodle money (buy-bust money), blue-green eco bag, brown envelope and a weighing scale.
The seized illegal drugs have an estimated combined weight of 3,450 grams, with Standard Drug Price value of P23,460,000.
Jonnie Romo alias “Han” is currently under custody of the Parañaque City Police Station, where the necessary documentation is being conducted.
The confiscated illegal drug items were turned over to the PNP Southern Police District Forensic Unit for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Police said the suspect will be charged with Violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act). P/Maj. Gen. Edgar Alan O. Okubo, regional director of the National Capital Region Police Office, commended the Parañaque City Police Station and the Southern Police District under P/Brig. Gen. Kirby John Brion Kraft for remaining committed to its mission of eradicating illegal drug activities within its jurisdiction, ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
