K-pop star Sandara Park reveals that she wants to stay single for life.
In an episode of the YouTube web show No Back Tak Jae-hoon on 25 May, the 2NE1 member called herself a “non-maritalist,” as she has no plans of getting married.
Asked if she hates men, Dara replied, “It’s not like that. I want to stay single. There are too many people around me who have failed (at marriage).”
The 39-year-old also dished on the dating ban at YG Entertainment, her former agency.
“It was really hard. After I debuted, a lot of male celebrities hit on me. When CEO Yang Hyun-suk heard the rumor, he took away our phones because of me.”
Dara debuted as a member of 2NE1 in 2009 with CL, Minzy and Bom. The group, famous for the songs “Fire,” “I Am The Best,” “Lonely” and many others, remained active until its disbandment in May 2016.
“I was 26 years old when I debuted, so I think I was at the right age (for dating). Hoobaes (juniors) called me noona and flirted with me, while sunbaes (seniors) was like, ‘Other idols are too young, but she is 26 years old,” Dara recalled.
“I’ve dated celebrities, but I wasn’t involved in any scandals,” she added. Then, recalling somebody she used to date online, she said, “I felt sorry for my ex-boyfriend. I only met him once or twice in person. I only contacted him via text message. I got dumped because I didn’t meet him, so it’s a sad story because we really didn’t meet face to face.”
Dara has often been linked to BigBang leader G-Dragon.
