Chie Filomeno recently clarified the details of her relationship with actor Jake Cuenca during a guest appearance on the morning program Magandang Buhay. The actress said she admired Cuenca, who has been very outspoken about his feelings for her.
Throughout the conversation, Filomeno expressed her gratitude to Cuenca for being open about his feelings.
“Actually, flattering din ‘yung sinabi niya kasi hindi rin lahat ng lalaki ay vocal sa feelings nila. And I am happy na he is vocal sa feelings niya sa akin. I do admire him also, as in sa mga interview na itinatanong sa akin I look up to him,” explained Filomeno, after seeing a clip from Cuenca’s earlier visit on the show.
While acknowledging their connection, Filomeno said they were taking their time to get to know one another better. “We are talking, nag-uusap kami po,” she said.
The actress went on, “Siguro taking time din kasi alam din niya rin kung ano ang priority ko in life. He’s really understanding.”
When asked what their relationship’s official status was, Filomeno replied: “Wala pang label, wala pa.”
‘I’m admiring her. I guess I can say that. She knew that I’m admiring her.’
The rumors of him and Filomeno having a relationship started last year.
In his Instagram post last year, Cuenca shared a stunning photo of them from the Metro Body 2023 photo shoot that took place before Star Magic’s “Hot Summer LaHot Sexy” event. The caption read: “If you never shoot, you’ll never know.”
Cuenca’s post was made a few days after he claimed that he and Chie were “enjoying each other’s company.”
“I’m admiring her. I guess I can say that. She knew that I’m admiring her,” he said in one of his interviews.
Fans began to suspect that Cuenca and Filomeno were already dating, after seeing Cuenca’s flirtatious emoji comments on several of Chie’s Instagram postings.
Cuenca had a three-year romance with former beauty queen Kylie Verzosa before meeting Filomeno. Cuenca emphasized that there was no animosity or bitterness between them when the couple announced their split in April 2022.
Chie, on the other hand, was linked to Kyle Echarri in 2021, when they were both housemates on Pinoy Big Brother Kumunity Celebrity Edition.
