Sturdy homes are still at risk of damage from strong storms. When a storm hit Vicksburg, Mississippi, USA, on 9 June, its

80-mile-per-hour winds felled trees that blocked roads, damaged structures, and snapped power lines. Most of the city lost electricity.

The storm also blew off the roof of a fully occupied lodge on Clay Street, forcing guests to move, Vicksburg Post reported.

On Sunday afternoon, a tornado struck the town of Didsbury in Alberta, Canada. Some people suffered minor injuries.

The powerful twister measuring 1 to 2 kilometers wide also destroyed two homes and damaged other houses, Dean Allan, deputy mayor of Carstairs, said, according to ABC News.

Storm chaser Aaron Jayjack posted a video online of a tornado near Didsbury crossing a highway, appearing to damage two rural homes on both sides of the road, ABC News reported.

In Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City, residents were caught off guard by a sudden gust of wind on 22 June.

The strong wind reportedly ripped off the galvanized steel roofs of some houses and knocked down several trees hitting some homes.

A total of 18 homes were damaged, GMA Regional TV One Mindanao reported.

Surprisingly, there was no storm that day. Instead, a low-flying Black Hawk helicopter of the Philippine Air Force unleashed the destructive wind while it was surveying the villages below, according to the report.

The 4th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army promised to help the residents affected by the mishap, according to the report.
