Steph Curry hits game-winning shot to win ACC golf championship

NBA star Stephen “Steph” Curry is used to hitting game-winning shots for the Golden State Warriors; but this time, he showcased his prowess in golf by clinching a championship victory on Sunday in Stateline, Nevada.

He became the first African-American athlete to win the American Century Championship (ACC) tournament, which was participated in by celebrities and athletes from various sports disciplines.

Likewise, the Warriors’ MVP became the third active athlete and the second basketball player ever (after Vinny Del Negro who won in 2021) to win the prestigious event.

Curry had a solid performance at the ACC golf event this past weekend in Lake Tahoe. He dominated the entire weekend, leading on day one with 27 points, day two with 50 points, and finishing the tournament with a total of 75 points.

Despite leading most of the event, Curry trailed by three strokes entering the final hole. Needing an eagle to win his first ACC title, the four-time NBA champion sealed the victory with a clutch 15-foot putt.

His outstanding performance placed him two points ahead of Mardy Fish, the former professional tennis player who finished as the runner-up.
