Health Center to rise in Naga, Cebu

The City of Naga in Cebu Province yesterday had its groundbreaking ceremony to construct a Primary Health Care facility worth P350 million.

City of Naga Mayor Valdemar Chiong told Daily Tribune the total budget for the new health center has been approved through a loan by the Development Bank of the Philippines.

The health facility will have a 150-bed capacity located in Barangay Poblacion and to be constructed on a 6,000-square meter lot.

Chiong added that the office of Senator Francis Tolentino had transferred P50 million through the Department of Public Works and Highways to start the first phase of the construction.

He emphasized that the new facility is expected to provide improved healthcare services to the city›s constituents.

However, the mayor did not expound on the medical services it would offer.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Senator Francis Tolentino accompanied by Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and Mayor Chiong.

Chiong cited the clinic will accept patients from nearby municipalities and cities but locals will be given preference.
