P45-M shabu seized at NAIA

Operatives from the Bureau of Customs Port of Ninoy Aquino International Airport and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency discovered illegal drugs in an abandoned package inside a warehouse located inside the NAIA Complex in Pasay City.

The BoC-NAIA said that the illegal drugs were allegedly imported from Africa. Initial reports said that the parcel was declared as an African Cultural shipment by a certain Michael Mobida of Johannesburg, South Africa.

The parcel was consigned to a certain Wilbert Dee, a resident of Manila.

Investigations showed that after the package went through initial inspection by the x-ray machine and the Customs duty examiner, it was found that the package had a bundle of various fabric placemats, pillow cases and blankets.

However, upon further inspection, authorities discovered six plastic pouches of nuts and three plastic pouches of pumpkin seeds which contained a total of 6.750 kg of suspected shabu with an estimate worth of P45.9 million.
