‘Iti Mapukpukaw’ (The Missing), the first-ever animated movie to have made the cut in Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival’s main competition, won Best Full-length Feature Film in the awards ceremony held tonight, 13 August, at the Grand Lobby of the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.
Dolly de Leon, who plays the mother of the lead character in the winning movie, was named the best supporting actress. An industry veteran, De Leon won first accolades abroad for her breakthrough performance in the Cannes-winning movie, ‘Triangle of Sadness’.
The rest of the acting awards went to first-time winners and newcomers: Pat Tingjuy, best actress, for ‘Rookie’; Mikoy Morales, best actor, for ‘Tether’, and Bon Andrew Lentajas for ‘Huling Palabas’.
