Joji brings ‘Pandemonium Tour’ to Manila

Japanese singer-songwriter Joji will return to Manila to hold his first solo concert on 28 November at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

After announcing North American dates for his “Pandemonium Tour,” Joji added new stops in Australia, New Zealand and Asia, which includes Taipei, Bangkok, Manila, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong.

This is not the first time for Joji to be in Manila. Last December 2022, he was among the performers who headlined Head in the Clouds in Manila, an annual arts and music festival organized by 88rising. He was also in Plus63 Festival’s comeback at SM Seaside Complex, Cebu, in January with Filipino-American singer Kehlani.

Before emerging as one of the most captivating digital artists of this generation, Joji started his career as a YouTuber in 2011, where he became known for playing quirky and comic characters Filthy Frank and Pink Guy.

From being a YouTube phenomenon, he eventually transitioned to being a musician in 2017. Since then, he has released three studio albums titled Ballads 1 (2018), Nectar (2020) and Smithereens (2022), all with his distinct R&B, electronic and lo-fi sound that has captured global acclaim.

Hailed as the first Asian-born artist to top Billboard’s R&B/Hip-hop Album chart in 2018, Joji is known for the songs “Slow Dancing in the Dark,” “Sanctuary” and “Glimpse of Us.”

Tickets to his Manila concert will be on sale on 20 September at 10 a.m.
