Skippy, one of the world’s favorite peanut butter brands, is celebrating its 90th anniversary. Launched in 1933, it has remained a comfort food all these years with its Chunky and Creamy variants. For this milestone, Skippy forged a partnership with chef Myke “Tatung” Sarthou, who created three special celebration recipes using Skippy peanut butter — Spicy Peanut Chicken Pizza, Chicken Satay Burger with Peanut Hoisin Sauce, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake — and offered these in one of his restaurants, Azadore, for two weeks.
Spicy Peanut Chicken Pizza is flatbread-inspired pizza topped with savory chicken tikka strips, vegetables and mushroom, over a nutty Indian butter chicken sauce. Chicken Satay Burger with Peanut Hoisin Sauce is flavorful and juicy chicken satay with coleslaw in a soy and buttery brioche bun. Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake is a delightful blend of decadent chocolate and creamy peanut butter frosting between layers of moist and nutty chocolate cake.
Apart from this partnership with chef Tatung, Skippy also ran a nationwide promotion inviting fans to come up with dishes or baked goodies using the product. Mommy Jenny Ann Casintahan, a businesswoman and a mom of two kids, was chosen as the grand prize winner with her grilled pork kare-kare.
