When one is blessed to reach 95 years old, birthdays no longer commemorate birth but celebrate life. It is the appropriate time to reminisce the good tinged with the bad, the happy with a bit of the sad and, more importantly, cherished moments spent with family and dear friends.
Filled with much care and love, grace and gratitude with another significant milestone, the ageless Ellen Climaco gathered dear relatives and close friends in an unforgettable evening of sumptuous food, refreshing drinks and non-stop music with lots of dancing, the celebrator’s favorite pastime.
Her nine children, all successful in their chosen fields, were in attendance. Her eldest and only daughter May Ann, together with her siblings, Jojo, Cle and Dominic, flew in from the United States. They were joined by Junet, a resident of Manila, and Dan, Nic-nic, Gerry and Bdict, who all remain in Cebu and manage their thriving textile and home furnishings business.
Ellen’s college classmates from the Pharmacy course at the University of Santo Tomas, Vita Cabatingan and Maming Cinco, exerted all-out effort to be present for this joyous occasion.
To everybody’s delight, Ellen performed a fabulous well-choreographed dance number. She moved with grace and elegance, complete with facial expressions that matched the music. It was truly engaging to watch.
As everyone joined in the birthday song, the ultra slim and fit celebrator spiritedly blew her cake candles.
A highlight of the evening was the slide presentation, where each of her children narrated their unconditional love for her and how she relentlessly taught and guided them toward finding a sense of worth and independence.
Her 24 grandchildren were likewise in attendance, showering their lola with lots of hugs and kisses.
