Chinese group arrested for illegal gambling

At least 13 individuals were arrested by elements of the Southern Police District for illegal gambling.

The arrested individuals will be facing charges for Violation of Presidential Decree 1602, and one person for Violation of Republic Act 10591 and Batas Pambansa 881 (Violation of Omnibus Election Code).

The operation took place at approximately 9:30 p.m. on 4 September 2023 inside a recreational hub located at Bayview Drive, Tambo, Parañaque City.

The arrested suspects for violation of PD 1602 were identified as: Gong, Zhao Wei, male, 34 years old; Long Junfei, male, 33 years old; Tang, Xiaoxang, male, 29 years old; Dong, Jian Hua, male, 27 years old; Zhao, Zheng, male, 26 years old; Li, Xin, male, 35 years old; Tan, Yucheng, 31 years old; Chen, Guo Dong, male, 28 years old; Yu, Shuai, male, 37 years old; Han, Xu, male, 33 years old; Salman, Ali, male, 28 years old (Violation of Omnibus Election Code-Gun Ban); Jonathan Tañedo, male, 43 years old (Violation of PD 1602); Yue, Xiao Lu, female, 27 years old (Violation of PD 1602); and Anna Silverio, 22 years old

The operation was conducted by personnel of the District Special Operations Unit-Southern Police District and Tambo Police Substation 2, Parañaque City police that resulted in the recovery of three table gaming machines, 170 pieces of tokens, one counting machine, three bundles of money amounting to ₱27,000 in different denominations, one 9mm caliber Rock Island M1911 A1-FS, one 9mm magazine, and four pieces of 9mm live ammunition
