Manila LGU gets huge boost

The local government of Manila disclosed on Thursday that it has received a donation of sports equipment from Peak China and Peak Philippines — two sporting goods companies — which was presented to Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna by representatives from the two companies, chairman Xu Jing Nan and Michael Chenglay.

The donation includes hundreds of pairs of rubber shoes, which will be used to support the sports programs of the city under the stewardship of Manila Sports Council chief Roel de Guzman.

Chenglay said that he was impressed by the work that Mayor Lacuna has been doing for the city of Manila, and that he wanted to support her efforts to promote sports among the youth.

Lacuna expressed appreciation to the donors for their support and said that the donation will go a long way to help the city’s sports programs, adding that the city government is committed to promoting sports among the youth, as it is a way to keep them healthy and active, and to prevent them from engaging in vices.

This is not the first time that the city government of Manila has received donations from private companies. In recent months, the city has received donations from various companies, including food and beverage companies, clothing companies, and construction companies.
