Cebuana Lhuillier-backed Francis Alcantara and Alex Eala earn Bronze Medals in Asian Games

Cebuana Lhuillier tennis ambassador Francis “Nino” Alcantara and 18-year old Alex Eala and bagged the bronze in the 19th Asian Games held at Hangzhou, China.

The pair had an amazing run throughout the tournament, defeating serious contenders such as Nepal, India, and Thailand. This run, however, was cut short when the duo of Liang En-shuo and Tsung-hao Huang from Chinese Taipei prevented the Filipino team from advancing, with a score of 7-5 and 6-3.

Cebuana Lhuillier President and CEO Jean Henri Lhuillier was ecstatic saying “”Seeing the duo achieve success at the Asian Games fills my heart with immense pride and joy. I know how our players worked hard to get this far. We are beyond excited to see what’s in store for them in the future”.

It was a redemption of sorts for Alcantara who played with fellow Cebuana Lhuillier-backed Ruben Gonzales in the Men’s doubles segment but were eliminated after the first round.
