Clark Freeport — The Clark Development Corporation has launched a specialized skills training program for underprivileged individuals in Metro Clark.
In cooperation with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Department of Labor and Employment and the World Link Institute for Technical Studies, Inc., the skills training program offers training in massage, nail care, shielded metal arc welding, industrial sewing machine operation, and housekeeping.
CDC president and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera said that these vocational skills training and workforce expansion are important in driving economic transformation under the Marcos Administration.
“President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. actively champions this skills training program, considering it a top administration priority to empower fellow Filipinos through skills development,” Devanadera said.
She added that with a favorable investment climate and a highly skilled workforce, the Philippines is well-positioned to exceed its pre-pandemic economic growth.
According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, the Philippine economy recorded 4.3 percent growth in Q2 2023.
All major economic sectors, including agriculture, forestry, fishing, industry, and services, posted positive growth figures at 0.2, 2.1 and 6 percent, respectively.
To recall, the CDC, in partnership with Aderans Philippines Inc. and Starboard Manpower Services Inc., successfully conducted a 30-day wig-making training program recently, with 37 participants completing it.
