Senator Imee Marcos said the government should consider the suspension and review of the PUV modernization as the country has yet to recover from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, which also hit the transportation sector hard.
Marcos said PUV operators and drivers could not afford the modernization being offered by the government.
Marcos said in an interview with reporters in Navotas City on Saturday that the PUV modernization program “should be postponed and adjusted” fitting to the needs of the drivers and operators.
She also stressed the need to reconsider a sufficient amount of subsidy for drivers and operators under the PUV modernization program.
