Man arrested for gun ban violation

Operatives from the Pasay City Police nabbed a 35-year-old man for carrying a gun in Pasay City last Saturday.

Pasay City Police chief Col. Froilan Uy identified the suspect as alias Nognog, who was arrested at around 5:30 p.m. along Piccio Garden Road in Barangay 183, Pasay City.

Initial reports disclosed that police received a telephone call from a concerned citizen about a man carrying a gun.

A team from the police substation led by Staff Sgt. Jonnel Ortega, Cpl. Jeradl Dahilig and Pat. Julius Sarangay were immediately dispatched to verify the report leading to the arrest of Nognog.

Uy said the responding policemen confiscated from the suspect a .38 caliber revolver with four live ammunition.

He said the suspect was immediately detained at the police custodial facility after his arrest and was charged for violation of Republic Act 10591 or comprehensive law on firearms and ammunition in relation to the Omnibus Election Code.
