THEY’RE EVERYWHERE — A year after arriving, Hatasu grabs e-bike market share

Barely a year since its arrival on local soil, newcomer Hatasu has already made its mark as one of the top brands in mind when it comes to electronic vehicles in the Philippine market.

The brand achieved quite a milestone in the industry since its launch in November 2022 with over 10,000 users in its first 10 months alone.

Hatasu has already opened more than 500 stores with nine concept stores nationwide.

It also has 30 trusted partners and six financial partners as it stays true to its goal of providing Filipinos with safe, value-for-money and sustainable alternative vehicles amid soaring fuel prices and terrible traffic congestion.

“Last year, HATASU eBike, we started with the mission of changing the mobility landscape here in the Philippines and providing our customers with what they need,” HATASU CEU Zac Huang said during the brand’s media event held at Puerto Real in Intramuros last Thursday, 12 October.

HATASU has a wide array of vehicles which are fast becoming popular in our local streets.

The event showcased HATASU’s eBike offerings like the two-wheeled Kumi and Nero as well as the three-wheeled Haro and Mako 2.

Kumi is fit for novice riders while Nero is an upgrade from the basic and entry-level models. Both models have a 48v20ah battery with a mileage of 40 to 50 kilometers and speed of up to 25 kilometers per hour and are HATASU’s offering for students, office workers and delivery riders with their front baskets for storage.

On the other hand, Mako 2 is an all-rounder eBike equipped with purposeful upgrades like three-seating capacity, a big underseat compartment and a roof. It runs on a 48v32ah battery with a range of 60-75kms and speed of 25kph.

Haru is a three-wheeler with a compact body, telescopic fork, two-seater cushioned saddle with backrest and a wider footboard. Because of its compact design it runs on a 48v20ah battery with a range of 40-50kms and speed of up to 25kph.

E-BIKE Nero is an upgrade from the basic and entry-level models.

Also, what makes HATASU different from its eBike competitors is its holistic approach.

“We are the manufacturer and sole distributor of the HATASU e-vehicle lineup,” brand director Jen Cheng said.

“We immerse ourselves in developing the product together with our research and development team to make sure that we bring in products that are not only good in design and quality but also fit for the road condition and practical needs of our Filipino customers.”

HATASU continues to grow its lineup as it is set to unveil for its first anniversary its newest three-wheeled eBike model next month.
