Immigration officers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport intercepted another sex offender who has been convicted of child pornography in his country.
Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco identified the passenger as Anthony Collins, 42-year-old, a British national, denied entry at the NAIA Terminal 1 on 14 October upon his arrival from Kuwait.
Tansingco said that Collins is another registered sex offender who is subject to outright exclusion under the Philippine Immigration Act.
The Immigration chief added that Collins was immediately booked on the first available flight back to his port of origin and placed his name on the blacklist of undesirable aliens.
According to Interpol’s National Central Bureau, last 27 May 2022 Collins was convicted by a court in Manchester, England, for voyeurism and taking indecent photographs of two 16-year-old children.
The Philippine Center for Transnational Crime alerted the BI about Collins’ impending arrival in Manila, which prompted Tansingco to immediately issue a lookout order for the said British passenger.
Based on their records, the Bureau has stopped more than 130 foreign sex offenders since January of this year and sent them back to their port of origin.
Tansingco warned those aliens to avoid traveling to the Philippines, as there is a very big chance that they will be denied entry.
He said that they have established a working arrangement with the different foreign missions in Manila that regularly provide them with the names of their nationals who have been convicted of sex crimes in their country.
