P1.7-M illegal drugs seized in Zambales

Iba, Zambales — Authorities here seized P1.7 million worth of illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation held at the Capitol town last Tuesday.

According to the Zambales Police Provincial Office, the
buy-bust operation yielded 250 grams of shabu with a street value of P1,700,000 and resulted in the arrest of two drug peddlers.

Simultaneously in Angeles City, an anti-illegal drug operation led to the arrest of a high-value target, in possession of around 55 grams of shabu, valued at P374,000.

The suspects are currently in police custody, undergoing the necessary legal procedures for proper documentation. Criminal charges are being prepared against the accused in accordance with Section 5 and 11 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.

Police Regional Office 3 regional director Brig. General Jose Hidalgo Jr. said that the seizure of the drugs is a significant achievement in the nation’s ongoing battle against illegal drugs. These efforts align with the start of the campaign period for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections 2023.

“Central Luzon law enforcement will remain steadfast in our commitment to combat all forms of criminality, with a particular focus on the use and proliferation of illegal drugs. It is an undeniable factor in preserving peace and order within our communities,” Hidalgo said.
