FAMILY COMING OVER — Hyundai’s new MPV models Custin, Stargazer arrive

Hyundai Motor Philippines Inc. has expanded its multi-purpose vehicle lineup with fresh introductions and notable upgrades, emphasizing its position as a key player in this high-growth automotive segment.

The Seoul-based automaker unveils two new MPV models, the Stargazer X and the New Custin, which were designed to offer a premium driving experience with a focus on technology, luxury and utility.

Dongwook Lee, president of HMPH, stated: “As a mobility solutions provider, our role is to constantly search for ways to cater to the potentials of the market. The MPV segment here in the country proves to be one, with its exponential growth over the years.”

“Today, we present what luxury of movement is. Upgrades to our lineup were made so that our customers can have an even more exceptional MPV experience. We wish to ensure there is a Hyundai suited for every type of Filipino family, considering their lifestyle and must-haves.”

After its recent appearance at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show in Jakarta, the Stargazer X makes its way to the Philippines.

SPORTIER and more rugged Stargazer X variant is also introduced and is on-hand for test drives.

The revamped model features an athletic look and a sportier profile, thanks to the exterior changes such as a new 3D stacked front grille, black roof rails, redesigned bumper and rear spoiler extension.

A new set of 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels not only add to the aesthetics but improve ground clearance, a consideration for rough terrains.

Offering a generous 585-liters of space capacity with flexible second and third-row seating, this vehicle upholds Hyundai’s vision of comfort and utility. Additionally, a range of technological enhancements, including an Electronic Parking Brake with Autohold, make their way into the X variant, which is based on the Stargazer GLS premium model.

The Stargazer X has a retail price of P1,348,000 and is available in three color options: Creamy White Pearl, Magnetic Silver Metallic and Dragon Red Pearl.

Turning attention to the New Custin, this is a brand-new nameplate that Hyundai is launching in the Philippines. The Custin is also known as the Custo in other markets, but due to copyrights, the name was changed. The Vietnam market also gets the Custin name.

Special 18-inch dynamic blade aluminum alloy wheels complete the exterior look. The diamond motif abounds, as these are present on the door handles, the grille, the steering column stalks, and the door sidings.

Inside, the Custin draws inspiration from private jets, boasting a slim cockpit and a flat floor to maximize comfort. The vehicle offers an overall length of 4.95 meters and a wheelbase of 3.05m, leading in its class for space.

The New Custin is priced starting at P1,770,000 and is available in two variants with initial color options of Aurora Blue Pearl, Polar White and Military Gray Metallic. The top-of-the-line Custin 1.5T-GDI Premium 8AT is priced at P2,080,000.
