‘Suzume’ trailer out for 8 March Phl premiere

Suzume no Tojimari, a highly anticipated movie from Makoto Shinkai, has unveiled its official trailer before its Philippine premiere on 8 March.

In Suzume no Tojimari, a 17-year-old Kyushu girl encounters a mysterious young man searching for a “door,” and together with Souta, they try to shut the doors as the portals wreak havoc on the areas they emerge in.

This is Shinkai’s first movie since Weathering With You in 2019; in 2016, he released Your Name, which became one of the most successful anime movies of all time in terms of box office earnings.

The Japanese animated fantasy film Suzume No Tajimari was created by CoMix Wave Productions in 2022. After its debut, it swiftly climbed to the top of Japan’s outstanding animation productions.

Suzume was a huge success, surpassing Hayao Miyazaki’s The Wind Rises from Studio Ghibli to place 10th in Japan’s all-time highest-grossing anime film list as of 9 January 2023.

The 73rd Berlin International Film Festival Awards in February also included this film among its nominees.

In addition to the Philippines, Suzume will be shown this April in Australia, Canada, Brazil, the United Kingdom, the United States, and other countries.
