City jail detainee gets added criminal charge after he was issued a warrant for illegal gambling

A city jail detainee presently facing other charges in court was served a warrant of arrest Saturday morning  for illegal gambling at the BGJM compound in Manila.

The suspect was identified as Alberto Brilliante y Geronimo, 49 years old, single, jobless and residing at 208 Kahilum II, Pandacan, Manila.

Brillante’s warrant of arrest was issued by MTC, National Capital Judicial Region, Branch 4, Manila dated 25 January 2013.

It was learned that the suspect had been detained at the Manila City compound and is still facing charges for illegal drugs.

Recommended bail for violation of PD 1602 or the anti-illegal gambling law is P10,000.

Meanwhile, MPD Chief P/Brig. Gen. Andrei Dizon, in an interview, said that violators of PD 1602 should not ignore said cases as it will reflect in one’s criminal records and if one needed to have an NBI and police clearance it will appear and will be derogatory to anyone wishing to apply for travel abroad or oversees work and even travel outside the country.
