Young, vibrant glamour at the Star Magical Prom

An evening of glitz and glamor saw the most promising new generation of talents of ABS-CBN grace the ivory carpet of The Bellevue Alabang for the recent Star Magical Prom.

Many of the young ladies and gents donned finery inspired by the Netflix Regency-era series Bridgerton.

After a period of public voting, the adored loveteam of Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano were hailed as the “Prom King and Queen” of the inaugural Star Magical Prom.

Mariano dazzled in a black and white feathered gown by Francis Libiran. Pangilinan was the perfect escort in a Rajo Laurel get-up that referenced a young, cool Johnny Depp.

Real-life couple Ricci Rivero and Andrea Brillantes made headlines after their sweetness overload moment during Blackpink’s Born Pink World Tour concert, where it was Brillantes who asked Rivero to go with her to the Prom. That trending moment earned them the “Most Creative Promposal & Best Promposal” accolade.

The 20-year-old Brillantes came in a custom, fully crystal-embellished Michael Leyva creation. She made a dramatic entrance wearing a train that she then removed to reveal a fringed column dress matched with a diamond necklace and a pair of drop earrings, complemented by a glittery headband and gloves accentuated with rhinestones.

To match Brillantes’ standout ensemble, Rivero donned an ivory-white suit by Edwin Tan.

Recognized as the “Most Kilig Promposal and Most Viewed Promposal,” on the other hand, were Dirty Linen leads Seth Fedelin and Francine Diaz, who made their prom date even more romantic with a fireworks display.

Diaz walked the carpet in a yellow gown with feathered sleeves by Val Taguba, while Fedelin looked dapper in his Blackcode Manila white suit. Diaz and Fedelin also emerged as “Best Promposal 1st Runner-up.”

The stars of He’s Into Her, Jeremiah Lisbo and Kaori Oinuma, were chosen as “Best Promposal 2nd Runner-up.” LSW PH created a peach gown with a long train for Oinuma. Lisbo matched the look with menswear designer Bon Hansen’s black and white suit.

Former child star Raikko Mateo, known to Kapamilya viewers for his titular role in the series Honesto, and Krystal Mejes, who as a child actress played “kontrabida” in Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit, were named Freshman Prince and Princess.

Asked for their message to young fans, Pangilinan shared: “Don’t rush things. Take into account that everything comes at the right time. Never lose that sense of hope and perseverance. Everything worth having doesn’t come easy. Enjoy the journey, and never forget where you came from.”

“Yes, good things take time,” Mariano added.
