Women for Women

Junior Chamber International (JCI) Philippines Zugbuana, an all-female leadership training organization, in partnership with Mercedes Benz Cebu, recently hosted a fashion show dubbed as Women for Women at the modern, minimalist automotive giant’s showroom.

Inspired by the German brand’s current lineup of vehicles, the islands’ well-respected fashion designers Philipp Tampus, Rei Escario, La Coca and Arnu Poe Camay for Abello Couture, together with some members of the Clothes for Life Foundation, created bespoke creations. Spectacular sparkles by Jarra Jewels provided the accessories to highlight the outfits.

The one-of-a-kind runway event featured 16 of Cebu’s empowering women. The roster included dedicated dentist Joey Esguerra, nurse by profession Angeli Dinsay, OB-GYN Eden Opay, board-certified dermatologist Malinda Vasquez, interior designer Melody Kate Arriola and former president of JCI Zugbuana Haidee Benedicto.

They were joined by businesswomen Maria Glen Pontanar and Kaye Tumampos, prolific reader Chloe Palang, self-proclaimed modern girl with an old soul Michaela Durano, ramp and print model Jewel Buot Image, beauty title holder Pearl Hung, island girl Luna Manlangit, bento artist Danessa Onglatco, doctor in the making Nica Zosa Nabua and student Kasley Libres.

Women for Women was for the benefit of CURE Foundation, a non-profit that supports and shelters exploited women and children, as well as Zugbuana Cares, the club’s community development project.
