Authorities in Cainta, Rizal arrested 10 people for alleged illegal gambling at the back of a cockpit arena in Barangay Sto. Domingo Saturday evening.
Rizal police provincial office chief Col. Dominic Baccay said the suspects were arrested in an intensified operation against illegal gambling in the province.
The Cainta police conducted the operation following complaints of concerned citizens about the illegal activities in the area.
Recovered from the suspects were deck cards and the P2,200 bet money.
The arrested suspects are now detained at the Cainta Municipal Police Station custodial facility for proper disposition. They are facing charges for violation with Presidential Decree 1602 or Anti-Illegal Gambling Law.
