Severe Tropical Storm ‘Chedeng’ maintains strength but still doesn’t affect Phl

“Chedeng” maintains its strength as a severe tropical storm at 5:00 am on Thursday, 8 June, however, it still does not directly affect the country according to the state weather bureau PAGASA.

The Severe Tropical Storm has been found 1,090 kilometers East of Central Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 115 km/h, moving West Northwestward at 10 km/h.

According to weather specialist Benison Estareja in PAGASA’s weather advisory, “Chedeng” is unlikely to directly bring rainfall over any parts of the country in the next few days.

“However, ‘yung monsoon rains, most likely magkakaroon po tayo ng mala-habagat na pag-ulan simula po this weekend hanggang sa kalagitnaan ng susunod na linggo,” Estareja said.
