Kathryn Bernardo was hailed as the “Outstanding Asian Star” in the Philippine category at the 2023 Seoul International Drama Awards, making her the second Filipino actress to win this prestigious award.

Among the Filipino actors contending for the award were Kathryn’s reel and real-life boyfriend, Daniel Padilla, as well as Maria Clara at Ibarra stars Barbie Forteza, Dennis Trillo and Julie Anne San Jose. The winners were determined through the voting platform service Idolchamp, which was open from 15 June to 14 July.

The Seoul International Drama Awards, celebrating its 18th anniversary this year, is scheduled to hold the awarding ceremony on 21 September, which will be broadcast on Korea’s KBS2TV.

Last year, Belle Mariano made history as the first Filipino actress to win the Outstanding Asian Star award for her role in the romantic comedy series He’s Into Her. Previous award winners include actors Gabby Concepcion, Dennis Trillo, Alden Richards and Dingdong Dantes.
