BOC-NAIA seized party drugs from abandoned parcels

The Bureau of Customs Port of NAIA seized more than PHP 14 million worth of illegal drugs from five abandoned inbound parcels from different countries at the Central Mail Exchange Centre in the NAIA Complex, Pasay City.

The first parcel, which was shipped from France, contained 2,989 tablets of ecstasy.  It was concealed inside an audio speaker and addressed to a person residing in Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City.

The second parcel was shipped from Amsterdam, declared as facial cream, and consigned to a person residing in Caloocan. The authorities discovered that it contained 924 grams of raw materials of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine, more commonly known as ‘molly’ or ecstasy.

The third parcel contained 2,547 tablets of Ecstasy, shipped from UITHOORN, Netherlands, and consigned to a resident of Pasay.

A fourth parcel declared as Pop-Up Pirate Game was shipped from the Netherlands and contained 2,541 tablets of ecstasy.

The last abandoned parcel was shipped from Utrecht, Netherlands, and consigned to a certain individual residing in Bacoor, Cavite. The said parcel contained 369 tablets of ecstasy concealed inside the two improvised paper pouches.

The BOC-NAIA turned over all seized illegal drugs with a total street value of Php14,358,200 to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-NAIA for proper disposal and further investigation against the person involved in the attempted drug smuggling in the country.
