A security officer of the Skyway Operation and Maintenance Corporation arrested a 42-year-old man caught in the act of stealing a bare copper cable wire early dawn Friday at Skyway Stage 3, Quirino exit near the corner of Pedro Gil Street, Barangay 800, San Andres Bukid, Manila.
The suspect, identified as Aurelio Palustra, 42 of 28 Batangas Line Street, Barangay 800, San Andres Bukid, Manila, is now detained at the MPD Precint 8. His two companions managed to escape.
Seized from the suspect were 14 meters of bare copper wire which cost an estimated P23, 520, hammer, chisel which is used as a tool for stealing cable wires.
According to security guard Rexenor Dagui and Aureleus Leonardo Cagande they saw the suspect 3:39 a.m. and his two companions while in the act of stealing the items.
The security guard tried to arrest the three suspects but was unable to keep the three that the two managed to escape.
Police is set to file charges for violation of Article 308, RPC (Theft) against the suspect at the Manila City Prosecutors Office.
