P680K shabu seized in QC drug sting

A drug peddler who yielded P680,000 worth of shabu was arrested over the weekend in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City.

Quezon City Police District. District Drug Enforcement Unit led by P/Maj. Wennie Cale, officer-in-charge, identified the suspect as Joshua Mangga, 21 years old and a resident of Barangay Bagong Pag-asa, Quezon City.

Cale said DDEU, in coordination with PDEA-RO-NCR, conducted a buy-bust operation at 11:50 p.m. Friday 13 October in front of No. H42, Puno Street, Sitio San Roque, Barangay Bagong Pag—asa, Quezon City, after a concerned citizen reported the illegal drug activity of the suspect.

A police officer acted as a poseur buyer and bought P20,000 worth of shabu from the suspect and at the given pre—arranged signal, he was arrested.

Confiscated from the suspect were 100 grams of shabu valued at P680,000, a black pouch, a cellular phone, and the buy-bust money.

The suspect will be charged with violation of RA 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

QCPD Director, P/Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan commended Cale and DDEU operatives for the successful buy–bust operations.
