The global market for sex toys for women is growing, indicating a rising interest in sexual wellness.

Consultancy firm PwC estimated the value of the sex accessories market to be $19 billion in 2021, led by consumers in the United States, Agence France-Presse reported. PwC forecast the market to grow to $27 billion by 2026.

More playful and refined designs and discreet packaging have helped make such products more appealing to women, according to the AFP report.

The television series “Sex and the City” and the erotic movie “Fifty Shades of Grey” also helped promote products like vibrators and sadomasochism equipment.

Another sign of the robust sex toy market is the foray of celebrities into the business. Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow, British singer Lily Allen, and feminist fashion designer Sonia Rykiel have their own online stores selling a variety of pleasure devices, from erotic lingerie to vibrators.

One closely related prop lacks functionality but is still purposeful in stimulating bedroom imagination.

The item was exposed when a bunch accidentally spilled on a road in Irkutsk, Russia, from a cargo truck last month, the New York Post reported.

A viral video of the incident taken by a passerby showed several white plaster casts of vaginas lying on the pavement behind the open door of the delivery truck that apparently crashed on 22 September.
Traffic officers reportedly allowed the driver to clean up the mess and resume his journey without issuing him a ticket.

Plaster casts of women’s genitals are an artwork medium of British sculptor and vaginal art pioneer Jamie McCartney. The plaster casts were to be displayed at an art gallery.
