“Indefinitely. Charot.”
That was Heart Evangelista replying on a recent Instagram Live session to a question from a follower on how long she’s staying in Paris, where she just bought a new apartment.
Her reason? To lessen her expenses whenever she’s in the French capital for work.
“I don’t really plan to buy anything else because I have all of my nice furniture. I want it to be very, very nice, so I’m saving up for that,” said the 37-year-old Filipino actor and visual artist who’s been visible on social media in her fashionista outfits.
“I’m in Paris and I haven’t been home in such a long time but I don’t mind. Everybody’s got to work,” she admitted.
“No, I’m not living here. I have work here and I have work in the Philippines and kailangan natin ng work because, you know, you gotta be independent to pay for your stuff without hingi-hingi ng anik-anik. So, kailangan super work tayo. I’m a working girl.”
It’s a virtual declaration of independence from her married life, which has been the subject of rumors — something she has deliberately avoided discussing.
She’d rather talk about fashion.
“Actually, a lot of people have been asking me about Fashion Week, what I do here (in Paris), kung puro lakwatsa. Hindi po, trabaho po siya. Hindi po siya madali,” she said, but adding it’s still fun since it’s about fashion.
“I love dressing up but it’s really a full job,” she said. “But I’ve also been so busy to do anything, to shop. The only spare time I have is to be on my bed and rest,” she said before ending her livestream.
Paris Fashion Week 2022 runs until 4 October.
