A member of the Manila Police District was injured slightly while serving a warrant of arrest against an alleged neighborhood toughie in Tondo, Manila over the weekend.
Manila Police District police station 1 chief P/Lt. Col. Rosalino Ibay on Saturday identified the suspect as Ronald Abordo Francisco, alias “Kiko,” 30, a resident of Tondo’s Barangay 180.
Francisco resisted being arrested by members of the Raxabago police station and allegedly tried to grab the gun of one of the cops leading to a melee.
As the policemen were trying to wrest the gun from Francisco, it discharged hitting the suspect in the leg and ending the scuffle.
The cops spotted the suspect along Sunog Apog Street, corner Road 1, and tried to convince him to peaceably surrender to no avail.
Francisco was served an arrest warrant for murder issued by Manila Regional Trial Court Juge Teresa Patrimonio Soriado.
An additional charge of attempted homicide was filed against him before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office for grabbing the gun of P/Ssg. Benjie de la Peña.
Ibay’s men rushed Francisco to the Tondo Medical Center for treatment of his gunshot wound.
Some residents complained Francisco has been serving as a protector of drug pushers in the area while terrorizing with a gun those who cross his path.
