After painstakingly collating reference materials to complete the whole picture on the Sabah claim issue, the study group which was formed by Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra has finally completed their task.
The Task Force, which Guevarra formed last August was mandated to study any wider implications of the arbitral award in favor of the heir of the sultanate of Sulu.
“We’ve begun collating reference materials for our study, but this task will require a lot of manhours to complete,” the SolGen said in August.
“The study is complete and the draft is undergoing final edits. Then the OSG team will brainstorm on it,” Guevarra said Thursday.
The OSG has been carefully studying the legal and constitutional implications of the $14.92 billion award from a French arbitration court to compensate the descendants of the last Sulu Sultan.
