P1.5-M drugs seized in Zambales

SUBIC, ZAMBALES — Illegal drugs worth P1.5-million were seized by authorities in this town on Saturday.

According to Zambales Police Provincial Office chief Police Col. Fitz Macariola, joint operatives of Station Drug Enforcement Unit Subic MPS together with PIU Zambales PPO, PDEU Zambales PPO, 1st and 2nd PMFC conducted a drug-bust operation in Barangay Calapacuan on Saturday morning that led to the arrest of a jobless couple.

Macariola identified the suspects as Joemmeir John Leapart y Pasa alias “Jun Marzan” and Angelica Leapart y Ocampo alias “Ange,” both jobless and residing at Sitio Bukid, Barangay Calapacuan.

Macariola reported to Police Regional Office 3 chief Police Brigadier General Cesar Pasiwen that the team confiscated 14 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 227.2 grams.

The seized drugs have an estimated street value of P1,544,960, as authorities also confiscated other illegal drug paraphernalia, green sling bag and P3,000 marked money.

Further investigation revealed that Joemmeir Leapart is a high value individual, Top Priority Target, Regional Level and member of Naldi Drug Group.

“We are committed to suppress the proliferation of illegal drugs as we support the DILG’s “Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan” program while we continue to run after those who are involved in the illegal drug trade to deter criminality and lawlessness,” Pasiwen added.
