A motorcycle rider was killed and a security guard was injured when a driver lost control of a jeepney causing it to crash into a hospital Sunday morning in Sta. Ana, Manila.
The driver, identified as Ronald Fanis, was arrested and charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and serious physical injury.
Succumbing to his injuries was motorcycle rider Noe Ocenar Abalgar, while hurt in the incident was Marvin Pelaez Garcia, a security guard of the Trinity Women and Children’s Hospital.
A police report said the jeepney was westward going fast to Pedro Gil Street Sta. Ana when it had a flat tire and slammed into the hospital.
The motorcycle rider died on the spot while the security guard was admitted into the same hospital he was guarding.
Fanis was detained at the Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit’s holding area.
