JAMMERS BEACH SHACK: Bianca Elizalde’s cozy renovation project

Bianca Araneta-Elizalde is familiar with bringing her creative pursuits to life. Elizalde owns the much-loved farm-to-table, organic restaurant, The Wholesome Table, which has multiple branches all over the metro.

Not only is the food great, but one can also tell the tremendous amount of creative thought that the whole team infused into the place — from the restaurant’s interiors to its entire vibe and feel. Every restaurant concept has been carefully given thought.

The lovely restaurateur proudly announced a new project that has kept her busy in the past few months. And with the dry months fast approaching, there is no appropriate place to execute her latest pursuit than the most popular beach destination in the Philippines, Boracay!

“Came for the interiors, stayed for the food,” captioned the official Jammers Beach Shack Instagram page in one of its latest posts. Jammers Beach Shack — a Boracay original since 2022 — is Elizalde’s newest project. Elizalde wanted to continue the legacy of her husband, Juan Elizalde’s dear friend, Miguel, the original owner of Boracay’s famous burger joint.

“I wanted to honor the late Miguel by retaining the original shack’s name and its legacy as Boracay’s only burger joint during that time,” said Elizalde in an exclusive interview with the Daily Tribune.

Though, as Elizalde got her hands on the beach shack project, she immediately knew that it needed a complete makeover: Food, overall concept, and the design of the place.
“The Beach Shack now boasts of a tropical and relaxing vibe, complete with swing seating along the perimeter” after having a “complete makeover” led by Elizalde and her “entire creative and talented team.”

According to Elizalde, natural materials like wood, rope, cogon, raffa, and, yes, even foraged decor were used to recreate the look of a beach shack.

The restaurant space has an utterly beachy feel, with local materials that blend harmoniously with Boracay’s fast and cozy vibe.

With brightly colored orange chairs, ultra-soft blue sofas, and rusty wooden interior lamps hanging from the ceiling, one would have a pleasant experience with the overall ambiance of the beach shack space.
