“Sk8er Boi” singer Avril Lavigne has reportedly called it quits with singer-songwriter Mod Sun, less than a year after the two got engaged.
Insiders claim they have been on and off for the past two months.
Lavigne and Sun were last publicly seen together at a pre-Grammy event celebrating Julie Greenwald in Los Angeles.
Sometime this week, TMZ published photos of Lavigne hugging rapper Tyga while sharing a meal at Nobu restaurant, sparking romance rumors between the two musicians.
The split appears to be a surprise to Mod Sun.
“They were together and engaged as of three days ago when he left for tour, so if anything has changed that’s news to him,” his rep told Page Six.
His reps added that he won’t be slowing down from work and his tour will continue as planned.
Lavigne and Mod Sun, whose real name is Derek Smith, first met in January 2021 and released the collaborative single “flames” the same month. They became a couple the following month and got engaged in March 2022.
Lavigne was previously married to Sum 41’s lead vocalist Deryck Whibley. They started dating when she was 19 years old in 2003. The couple married in Montecito, California in July 2006 and filed for divorce in October 2009, which was finalized on November 2010.
In July 2012, Lavigne started dating Nickelback’s lead vocalist and guitarist Chad Kroeger. They married in July 2013 in the south of France and separated after only one year of marriage, which Lavigne announced on Instagram. Their divorce was finalized in 2015.
