Shows on treasure hunting, conspiracies
This month, there are new shows and episodes that give you the inside scoop on modern society issues, treasure hunting, conspiracies, and so much more in the History channel.
Premiering on June 27 at 9:55 p.m., new series The Tesla Files covers topics behind what a recent study by nonpartisan fact tank Pew claims is now the single longest period of decline in trust in government in American history. In its first episode titled “Without A Trace,” the filmmaker unravels different theories about government surveillance, secret underground facilities, and artificial intelligence.
Highly anticipated competition series Forged in Fire gets a new format this month with Forged in Fire: Knife or Death S1. Nerve-wracking scenes featuring the country’s top blade smiths, martial artists, and knife experts keep viewers on the edge of their seats. In each episode, competitors take a timed run through an obstacle course which tests the strength and sharpness of their blades as well as their ability to wield it. Catch Forged in Fire: Knife or Death S1 every Thursday at 9 p.m. starting June 14.
Another treasure-seeking series debuting in the little screen is The Curse of Civil War Gold. Premiering on June 27 at 10:50 p.m., the show centers on a national treasure that goes back to Civil War times and connects it to the assassination of Abraham Lincoln and the rise of America’s super-rich.
Airing every Sunday at 8:05 p.m. starting June 17 is Navy SEALs, a new series that follows the brave men of America’s special operations force as they face the likes of Al Qaeda, ISIS, conflict from Iran to Afghanistan, and terrorist attacks like 9/11. Untold stories of heroism, archival footage, and recreations of their mission to protect the United States make this a weekly must-watch.
Completing the powerhouse roster this June are the new episodes from History Drama: Six S2 on June 7 at 9:55 p.m. and opens with the men of Navy SEAL Team Six, as they struggle with trust and loss issues. The episode tackles the hard truths of being in the team, which include making life-and-death decisions to protect one another and their country.
