A Pasay City policeman, PO1 Danilo Cuambot, shot dead a dismissed policeman and wounded the latter’s companion in a “shootout” in Muntinlupa City Sunday afternoon.

Killed was former PO2 Pedro Delgado while his companion Alfredo Alcaraz was treated for gunshot wounds. A land dispute between Delgado and the Cuambot family was seen as a motive for the shooting.

According to Cuambot, he was driving his red Toyota Vios car at around 5 p.m. on Soldiers’ Hill in Barangay Putatan when Delgado, aboard a motorcycle with Alcaraz, shot at him.

Cuambot surmised that Delgado’s real target may have been his father who survived an ambush in Cavite. The men who figured in the shootout came from the same barangay.

Delgado went absent without leave resulting to his dismissal from service. Nelson Badilla
