2 hurt in Antipolo blast

The Antipolo City police on Tuesday reported a blast that rocked a village in the city and injured at least two persons.

According to Antipolo Police chief, Supt. Villa Bannawagan said the explosion blast occurred in Sitio Malaking Parang, Barangay San Jose.

Witnesses said an unidentified suspect threw what is suspected as the explosive device along the road, apparently aimed at a military truck that was passing by.

However, it was a nearby tricycle that bore the impact of the blast, causing minor injury to two passengers.

The victims, identified as 38-year old James Cabanero and 22-year old Ellaiza Acola, were immediately brought to the nearest hospital for immediate treatment.

Police investigators are still trying to determine the kind of explosive used and establish the motive, which could provide leads to the identity of the perpetrator.
