‘Bayanihan’ in north Luzon a success

The Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) initiated once again its Civic Action Program, dubbed as “All in One Bayanihan,” last Saturday, to render social services to the people of Galimuyod, Ilocos Sur.

The event formally started with a program in Brgy. Patac Covered Court that was participated in by the residents and local government officials of the Municipality of Galimuyod headed by Mayor Juanito B. Balingsat, the team of NOLCOM spearheaded by LtGen Emmanuel Salamat, the 702nd Brigade of Joint Task Force (JTF) led by BrigGen Henry Robinson Jr., the 81st Infantry Battalion (81IB), the GO SHARE Foundation headed by Noel Gonzales, the local police and other stakeholders.

Medical and optical services were rendered, including free medicines and eyeglasses.
A classroom and two dental buses accommodating two patients at a time each, from NOLCOM and the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur, were used for free dental services.

Trainings were also provided for members of the barangay security and other municipal volunteers on Humanitarian and Disaster Response, Self-Defense and the First Responders Training.

At the same time, a Peace and Order Consultative Meeting was conducted to discuss related matters on safety and security of the communities against local threats.

This was attended by the municipal and barangay officials, together with representatives from the security sector.

About 3,000 individuals benefited from the social services and trainings provided by 40 doctors, nurses and other health practitioners from the LGU, NOLCOM and partners.
