Grade 9 ‘pusher’ arrested

A Grade 9 student landed in jail after he was nabbed Wednesday night in an anti-drug operation of the Quezon City police.

The suspect was identified as John Eric del Mundo, 18. Seized from Del Mundo were eight plastic sachets containing marijuana and the P500-bill used as marked money.

Also arrested was Jonel Cajoles who bought drugs from the suspected pusher as an undercover policeman was transacting with Del Mundo.

According to the police, the drug suspects initiated their transaction online.

“They probably thought this is the safest way for them to transact. In many of our recent arrests, the transactions were done through Facebook,” said Supt. Louise Benjie Tremor, commander of Kamuning Police Station.

The suspects have previous criminal records.

When he was barely 15 years old, Del Mundo was involved in a drug-related case while Cajoles was implicated in robbery-snatching.

Del Mundo insisted the police failed to find any illegal drug when they frisked him.

They will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, the continuing anti-drug campaign of the Pasay City police resulted in the arrest of 10 suspected drug personalities on Wednesday.

Seized were 18 sealed sachets of shabu.

Pasay City Police chief Senior Supt. Noel Flores told the Daily Tribune in a text message the series of arrests is in accordance with the government’s relentless campaign against illegal drugs.

Flores said his intelligence operatives are working continuously to gather information on drug personalities operating in the city.

The latest batch of arrest brought to 35 the arrested suspected drug personalities in three consecutive days of anti-drug operations by the Pasay police’s Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU).

On Tuesday, the DEU nabbed 11 alleged drug personalities and 14 others on Monday.
