A hair-raising experience tonight

POSSESSION and unfinished business are tackled in the Halloween episode of “Wish Ko Lang.”
Wish Ko Lang’s Halloween Special showing tonight, 27 October, gave seasoned actress Glenda Garcia quite a scare. To portray her character in the said episode, Garcia had to lie down inside a real coffin. Her co-star, Edgar Allan Guzman, meanwhile, showcased another facet of his acting skills as a spiritually-possessed son.
The story centers on the unnerving experience of a family following the death of their matriarch. Leonora’s (Garcia) family mourns her demise but it is her favorite son, Jojo (Guzman), who is the one most affected by her passing. He would have wanted to further give back to his mom all the sacrifice she endured for their family. Yet, it seems Leonora is not ready to leave her family as well. Guests are disturbed when Leonora allegedly possesses some of those present in her wake. Her family is further worried when Leonora takes over Jojo’s body. Leonora insists it is not yet time for her to leave and points to her husband who according to Leonora did her grave sin. What lies behind this alleged spiritual disturbance in Leonora’s family? Will she continue to possess Jojo for her to communicate all her grudge?
Does Jojo have to suffer his mother’s wrath when he did not do anything bad against her in the first place?
Also in this episode are Nats Sitoy and Dan Alvaro. Wish Ko Lang, with host Vicky Morales, airs after Tadhana on GMA-7.
