Carlos Edriel Yulo became the first Filipino gymnast to win a medal in the 2018 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships at the Aspire Dome in Doha, Qatar on Friday.

Yulo made history after claiming bronze in the men’s floor exercise.

Yulo, 18, scored 14.600 to claim the Philippines’ first-ever medal in the world meet behind Artur Dalaloyan of Russia (14.900) who won the gold medal and silver medalist Kenzo Shirai of Japan, the former world champion (14.866).

Yulo placed fourth in the initial qualifying round for the Floor event Final.
