NPA leader, 2 aides killed

A leader of the New People’s Army (NPA) and two of his aides were killed in a series of encounters with the military in Sultan Kudarat, the Joint Task Force Central of the Armed Forces reported Sunday.

Task force acting commander Maj. Gen. Roberto Capulong said patrolling soldiers engaged the NPA members in at least four successive shootouts in forested areas of Barangay Baluan in Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat on Saturday.

Among those killed was one Ian de la Rama, alias Cris, allegedly the commanding officer of the regional operations command of the Far South Mindanao Region elements of the NPA.

Also killed were Valerio Lacumbo, with the aliases Bitoy, Bobit and Delfin; and Wilmer de la Cruz, who went by the aliases Dodong and Grab.
